How to Configure the Global Mail Message

You are able to customize many of the mail messages within ExCM by using the Extranet Management “Mail Settings” tool, but what if you want to make a change to the global mail message settings?

The global mail can be customized within the excm.en-US.resx file, which can be found by going to your IIS Manager, opening the Sites then opening your Web Application and selecting the App_GlobalResources, and right clicking and selecting explore.

Within the App_GlobalResources folder you will find the excm.en-US.resx file.

NOTE: Make a copy of the excm.en-US.resx file, and save it before making any changes to the file. DO NOT save the copy within the App_GlobalResources folder.

After you have saved a copy of the file open the excm.en-US file within the IIS Manager.

Once the file is open you can search for the global mail setting that you would like to change. For this example we will make changes to the "Account Activity Expiration Approaching", so we will want to perform a search for "AccountActivityExpirationApproaching".

Once we have found the correct section as highlighted in our screenshot below, we can make any required changes that are needed. In our example we want to use the Default Mail Syntax provided at http://excm2013r2.premierpointsolutions.com/mail-message-syntax.

After browsing out to the Mail Syntax site provided, we can then copy the mail syntax for the "Account Activity Expiration Approching" sample, and paste it in the appropriate sectionm, and then save the file. You will then need to refresh your IIS Manager.
