Verify Installation

If installation has gone as planned, it should be possible to confirm that the following items appear in Central Administration, without any errors displaying:

 

  1. In Central Administration, navigate to System Settings > Manage Farm Solutions to check that the ExCM 2019, 2016, or 2013 farm solution deployed without errors, and to the web application(s) you selected in the configuration wizard (see the troubleshooting section at the bottom of the page if the solution is not showing as deployed):

  2. Navigate to General Application Settings and confirm that the Extranet Collaboration Manager group of menu items has been added to the page (see the troubleshooting section at the bottom of the page if these menu items are not present):

  3. Navigate to Monitoring > Review Timer Job Definitions and confirm that the Extranet Global Configuration Timer Job is in the list (see the troubleshooting section at the bottom of the page if this timer job is not present):

  4. If all of these items display as shown above, you can proceed to the first step of Basic Configuration

 

Troubleshooting:

If any of the three items above are missing, or there are error message displayed about the farm solution deployment, the first thing to try in troubleshooting is to retract and re-deploy the ExCM solution.  Follow these steps to retract and re-deploy the solution:

 

  1. In Central Administration, navigate to System Settings > Manage Farm Solutions and click on the name of the ExCM solution:

  2. Next, click on the Retract Solution link:

  3. Select the defaults on the Retract Solution page and then click OK and allow time for the solution to fully retract from all of the servers:

  4. Once fully retracted, click on the name of the solution and re-deploy it to your extranet web application:

  5. Once the solution has fully re-deployed, you will need to run the following command on each server at an elevated command prompt:
     
    net stop SPTimerV4
    iisreset
    net start SPTimerV4
  6. Now, go back to the top of this page and attempt to verify the installation again.
  7. If the installation still cannot be verified, please submit a support ticket on our support portal.

 

Once you have verified your installation, proceed to the first step of the Basic Configuration phase.
